Looking to rebound after a tough loss to the Lightning on Friday
night, the Taylor Fluid Systems Peewee C Stratford Aces played host to the
Huron Heat on Saturday afternoon. The
Aces started the game with an intensity that suggested they had something to
prove. The Heat’s net-minder quickly
found herself under siege from a barrage of shots, but she managed to keep the
Aces off the board in the first.
Ava Neumeister was solid in net, but the Heat, beneficiaries of a lucky deflection, managed to sneak one by late in the first, giving them the early lead.
The Aces stayed true to their game plan and were rewarded early in the second when Taylor Neeb fired a shot five-hole to tie the game. The Aces pulled ahead in the third off Rowan Aitken’s one-timer.
Neeb added an empty netter with the clock winding down and the Aces cruised to a 3-1 victory.
Next up, the Aces travel to Monkton on Sunday afternoon to take on the Mitchell Meteors.
