The South Huron
Sabres came to town on Sunday for the second game in a home-and-home series
against the Taylor Fluid Systems Peewee C Stratford Aces. This game was a grudge match. The Aces had taken game one in Exeter on
Saturday and the Sabres were looking to steal a win at the Molson Arena.
Both teams battled hard and the game was full of the type of high energy and emotion that only playoff hockey breeds. Feeding off this intensity, the Aces’ offense exploded with seven goals by Josie Walker, Grace Laverty, Kylie Fifield (2), Alanah McIlroy, Ally Wheal and Avery Faulhafer.
Despite their efforts the Sabres were only able to sneak two passed the Aces’ veteran net-minder, Ava Neumeister.
The Aces completed the series sweep with a 7-2 victory.
Next up on the schedule the Aces travel to Budweiser Gardens on Tuesday to enjoy a rivalry game of another sort – the Women’s Rivalry Series game between Team Canada and Team U.S.A! Go Canada Go!
