Taylor Tallies Two as Aces beat Lady Ducks

This just in Hockey is Awesome!  Evidence needed? How about when a team from Stratford and a team from Anaheim play in a tournament in Rochester and the girls have a friendly rivalry as many Aces were fortunate enough to play with Alexis Fields of Anaheim in the summer.  This was a great game and a treat to watch.

The Aces opened the scoring in the first when Lauren Taylor scored her first of two just under two and a half minutes into the game with help from Chelsea Savelle and Kayla Wieringa .  Want a repeat ok at the 1:30 mark of the first Taylor scored the second of her two goals switching it up for fun Savelle fed it to Wieringa before finding Taylor who ripped a shot home to give the Aces a two goal lead.

But there is no quit in the Ducks and just 15 seconds later they found the back of the Aces goal to cut the lead in half.  After a very entertaining opening period the score was 2-1 in favour of the Aces.  The second period saw the Ducks tie the game 2 minutes in.  This game was a contest and good play was displayed by both teams back and forth and the game deserved to be close.

Late in the second period the Aces went back ahead when Avery Wildgust powered home a powerplay marker from Reese Reinecker.  This goal proved to be the game winner as the third period saw nothing but saves from Paige Willie and her Duck counterpart.  A 3-2 win for the Aces had them heading to the Quarter-Finals as the pool leader.

The waiting opponent would be the North Shore Vipers from Boston.
