Slattery snipes two in Aces Win!
Briar Slattery broke out in the Dunny Peewee A Aces tilt against the London Devilettes leading the Aces to a 5-2 victory on home ice.  Slattery's goals were part of a nice team effort by the Aces against a good Devilette team.

Kennedy Caldwell continued the string of good Aces netminding for the win and had a very good defensive effort in front of her.  Rayne Bowden continues to advance her game and is becoming a defender who can control games from the back end.  Teamed with Olivia Brock the two had stellar games for the Aces anchoring the defence.  Good play inspires good play and Reese Ostryznick and partner JD Jesse Dietrich had very strong games as well.  JD just missed a goal with a bomb from the point and on another blast had Kennedy McGregor tip the puck just wide.

The prettiest goal of the game was Slattery's first goal.  Caleigh Webb crossed the puck to Keira Dietz who fed the puck up the left wall to Avery Wildgust who's speed allowed her to create a 2 on 1 with Slattery.  Just when it looked as they had gotten in too close on the London goal Wildgust fed the puck cross crease to Slattery who stretched out and guided the puck in with one hand.  That goal put the Aces up 3-1.

The first two Aces goals were scored by the hottest Aces line of Lauren Taylor, Kayla Wieringa and Chelsea Savelle.  Taylor scored the opening goal on an assist from Wieringa while Wieringa scored her own unassisted to put the Aces up 2-0.  After the Devilettes cut the lead in half Slattery scored her beauty to restore the two goal lead.

Taylor scored her second of the game to make it 4-1 Aces early in the third with helpers going to Savelle and Wieringa giving Wieringa a three point night.  The Londoners again cut the Aces lead in half however Slattery iced the game with her second of the contest from Reese Reinecker sealing the win.

Both Raelyn Pennington and Madi Cardno had good games and created chances with the cycle opening up lots of ice with out being rewarded on the score sheet in this game.  It just goes to show that the Aces balanced attack is a recipe for success with three lines capable of putting up points and D that can move the puck to open up ice.

The Aces will be off for an extended rest before playing Chatham on December 3.  The Aces currently sit atop the standings however it is a very tightly contested division.
