Peewee B, U13, 2011-2012 (Stratford Aces Girls Hockey)

The Vancea Financial sponsored Peewee B Aces lost three hard fought games in provincial play on the weekend.  Game one saw a 3-1 loss to the Grand River Mustangs.  Logan Arnold scored Stratfords only goal assisted by Kiana Lauze.  Tasia Reynen made some key saves in net to keep Stratford in the game.  Stratford lost 3-1 in game two to the Norfolk Hurricanes with Nicolle Crowley burying the puck, unassisted, to put Stratford on the scoreboard.  Megan Jesse was stellar between the pipes.  In game 3 the peewees fought hard against the strong TCDMHA Rebels but came up short with another 3-1 ...

With one minute into the game, Zorra got off to an early 1-0 lead with a breakaway to bury their first goal.  Zorra scored again early in the third to take a 2-0 lead.  Nicolle Crowley put the puck top shelf to put Stratford on the scoreboard.  Assists went to Maia Moore and Madison Webley-Bruce.  Zorra scored again to leave the game at a 3-1 win.  Halle Blowes and Michaela McKay played well defensively and goalie Tasia Reynen made great saves throughout the game.  The peewees will head to Provincials in mid April.  Good Luck Girls! 

The Vancea Financial sponsored Peewee B Aces team was victorious, 2-1 against visiting Blythe, in game six of the playdowns, taking them Provincial bound.   Blythe got off to an early start scoring three minutes into the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Stratford was able to score back to back goals in the middle of the second with goals from Nicolle Crowley and Samantha McLeod and assists going to Maia Moore and Halle Blowes. Tasia Reynen was dynamic between the pipes to shut down visiting Sarnia with two straight shutouts and advancing the Vancea Financial sponsored Peewee B Aces into the finals in the West Division. In a 3-0 win Friday night, the scoring started early in the second period when Nicolle Crowley buried a top shelf goal assisted by goalie Reynen. Third period goals came from Shayla Brooks and Logan Arnold with assists going to Samantha McLeod, Madison McNab, and Halle Blowes. In the second game of playdowns Saturday, the Vancea Financial Peewee B team came away with yet another tie of 0-0 against Blythe.  Both teams were unsuccessful in gettting a goal past neither the Stratford or Blythe goalies.  Michaela McKay and Halle Blowes worked hard defensively helping goalie Tasia Reynen who was dynamic between the pipes for Stratford stopping everything that came her way.  Sunday's home game showed Blythe getting a quick goal in the first minute of play and again two minutes later making it 2-0.  In the second period, Blythe again scored 2 more goals in the last three ...
