Peewee B's Have Great Weekend
Nicolle Crowley led the Vancea Financial sponsored Peewee B Aces team in two wins and a tie this past weekend. In a tight 4-4 tie against a hungry Mitchell team, Crowley scored two goals assisted by Madison Webley-Bruce, Micheala McKay, and Madison McNab. Other goal scorers were Halle Blowes unassisted and McNab assisted by Logan Arnold and Kiana Lauze. Goalie, Tasia Reynen, made some timely saves to keep the game at a tie. The peewees blanked Milverton 2-0 with Crowley netting both of Stratford's goals assisted by Katelyn Berg, Maeggan Ball, and Blowes. Megan Jesse made some great saves in net to secure her shutout.
On Sunday, the peewees came up against the strong visiting Walkerton team but Stratford would soon show them what team play was all about. Allison Zimmerman started the scoring with a bullet to the back of the Walkerton net, assisted by Carly Plain. Other goals went to Crowley, Berg, and Arnold, with assists to Webley-Bruce, Shayla Brooks, Zimmerman, and Lauze. Samantha McLeod and Maia Moore played great offensive and forechecking games helping to keep the puck out of our end. Reynen made some outstanding saves between the pipes to help in the win. The hard playing Stratford team beat Walkerton 4-2. Stratfords record is now 14-2-3.
