Atom C Aces run winning streak to 12 games with gritty win over Mustangs
The Dunny’s Source for Sports Atom C Aces winning streak sits at 12 games after a gritty 1-0 victory over the Upper Maitland Mustangs on Sunday.

Katelynn McMahon scored on a breakaway just 10 seconds into game.   It was a tight checking, physical and feisty affair in which the Mustangs finished the last 30 seconds of the game with a 6 on 3 advantage while three Aces players were in the penalty box.  The girls had each other’s backs particularly when it came to defending goalie Peyton Boyles-Keating against the post whistle digging of Upper Maitland.   The win put the Aces at the top of their division OWHA Playdowns with a perfect 4-0 record.   On Saturday, Cassidy Nelemans scored her first two goals as an Ace in a 3-0 win over the South Huron Sabres in Stephen Township.  Congratulations Cassidy!!   On Thursday of last week the Aces had beat the Mustangs 3-1 on the road in Howick.  Abby Iacobellis had two goals while Katelynn scored one.   The Aces put their streak on the line this Saturday when they play their first league playoff game against the Lambton Attack.  The Attack went undefeated in the regular season to finish at the top of Division I of the WOGL.
