Atom C Aces qualify for Provincials and WOGHL Championship Finals!
To say that the Dunny’s Source for Sports Atom C Aces had a busy February is a bit of an understatement.  The Aces played a total 17 games over a 31 day span from early February to early March.

Just for fun, they finished off that stretch by playing seven games in seven days, posting a record of 5-0-2, to qualify for Provincials and the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League (WOGHL) Championship Finals and earn a well needed rest.   Stratford has been on a roll in 2019.  The Aces have gone 16-2-3 in league play, league playoffs and provincial playdowns since the start of January.  All facets of their game – goal scoring, forechecking, defending, puck movement and goaltending – have continued to improve.  When it has mattered most, the girls responded by playing their best hockey of the year. This bodes well for the upcoming stretch of hockey they face over the next two weeks.   This weekend the Aces square off against the Lambton Attack in a best of three series for the WOGHL Championship.  Lambton went undefeated over the course of the regular season and playoffs, however, recent games between Stratford and Lambton have been closely contested.  The Aces are excited to be cast as the underdogs, and win or lose; the series will help the girls prepare for Provincials in Toronto the first weekend in April.
