Aces Shutout Ice Cats
The Perth Auto Dismantlers Novice B Aces hosted the Brantford Ice Cats for the first time this season on Saturday November 5th. The girls meant business today and controlled the game from start to finish. Marta Rintoul with the help of key defenders worked hard in net and skated away with her second shutout the season. The Perth Auto Dismantlers Novice B Aces beat the Brantford Ice Cats 4-0.

Scoring started early in the first with a fury of action from the Campbell, Taylor, Binns line. The girls forced their way to the Ice Cats end with Paige Campbell scoring assisted by both Paige Taylor and Eve Binns. The second goal was another great passing goal. Lila Mortimer started the action by gaining control in the Aces end, she passed up to Paige Campbell who took to the blue line and popped it out to Anne Nickel. Anne turned up the heat, breaking past all Ice Cats defenders and scoring.

The second and third periods saw plenty of action with the final two goals coming in the last 30 seconds of the game. Tessa Burdett’s masterful puck handling skills allowed her avoid all the Ice Cats skaters and score at the 27 second mark unassisted. Emersyn Miller followed suit shortly after. The puck was won with some hard digging by Paige Taylor and Eve Binns who popped it out to Emersyn. With a bench cheering her on, she scored the final goal with 5 seconds left.

Congratulations to the Aces of the Game today. Rachael Barber was awarded the Defensive Ace for her pivotal blue line coverage and Anne Nickel was awarded the Offensive Ace for contributions and first breakaway goal.

The Aces have two more games before the break for the Stratford Aces Festival Cup Challenge on Nov 18th weekend. Both games will be at the Rotary Complex Nov 12 and 13 at 12:45 and 12:30 respectively.
