Novice Aces 1-1 Over the Weekend
The Stratford Perth Auto Dismantlers Novice B Aces were in action again this weekend with games on both days. The girls played Saturday in Woodstock and Sunday at home versus Wilmot.

The Saturday tilt was a good back and forth battle. In the first period Lila Mortimer and Emma Van Nes made strong defensive plays keeping Woodstock from any scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, even with solid goaltending by Sloan Cameron, Woodstock found their mark first scoring twice in the second period. Down 2-0 for most of the third period, the Aces worked hard to break the shutout. Emersyn Miller generated multiple opportunities carrying the puck through the Woodstock team but their goalie stood tall. Finally, halfway through the third, Tessa Burdett scored with an assist from Ella Taylor. The Novice team played a solid 32-minute game but came up just short in the end losing 2-1. Ace of the game was given to Paige Taylor for her solid and consistent play throughout the game.

On Sunday, the Novices Aces came out intense finishing the weekend on a winning note beating the Wilmot Wolverines. It was obvious from the beginning the girls meant business as their pregame warm-up songs could be heard at city hall. In a flurry of activity, the Aces struck first just 24 seconds into the game with Tessa Burdett scoring with assists from Abby Iaccobellis and Cassie Richardson. Still on the offensive, Abby struck again scoring with assists from Eve Binns and Tessa. The second was much like the first with Rachael Barber scoring assisted by Cassie and Ella Taylor. Paige Taylor scored the forth goal assisted by Anne Nickel and Paige Campbell. The fifth and final goal was scored by Eve and assisted on by Tessa. Marta Rintoul earned a shutout playing great in net making big saves when needed. Peyton Barclay helped by keeping the Wilmot players from scoring opportunities. Ace of the game was given to Bronwyn Hawkins for her offensive efforts and defensive player of the game was awarded to Teresa Schuster.
