A trip to Huron Park on Tuesday night to
play the South Huron Sabres resulted in a tie for the Stratford Cooper Standard
Bantam B Aces.
The home side scored the first two goals of the game, one in each of the first two periods. Against a skilled and physical team like the Sabres this looked like a fairly huge deficit to overcome.
Just before the half way point in the game Jessica Blowes put the Aces back in the hunt with a well placed backhand to the top corner. Joanna Van De Walle collected a point on the play as well.
Rachel Nash completed the comeback in the third when she flipped the puck up over the sprawled South Huron goaltender.
This was a good first result for the Aces who are currently competing for a chance to play at the Provincials. Next up is a Friday night home game against Mitchell.
