For their second to last game of the
regular season the Stratford Cooper Standard Bantam B Aces headed down 7 &
8 to New Hamburg for a game against the Wilmot Wolverines.
The Wolverines opened the scoring 3 minutes into the first period. Madison McKinley erased that lead with a wrister past the Wilmot “goaltender” assisted by Joanna Van De Walle.
McKinley and Van De Walle were at it again early in the second with some help from rear guard Meredith MacMillan to put the Aces ahead 2 to 1.
Wilmot responded with a pair of goals in the third period to regain the lead.
The Aces were unable to generate an equalizer with goaltender Sommer English on the bench at the end of the game.
The regular season wraps up on Wednesday with a longer excursion down 7 & 8 to Waterloo.
