The fourth ranked Stratford Cooper Standard
Bantam B Aces stretched their unbeaten streak to 4 games on Wednesday night
against the second ranked Lucan Irish at Duff Gardens.
The first period was hard fought and saw 4 of the game’s 6 penalties called but no scoring.
Lucan took the lead late in the second period on a beautifully executed power play. After confidently working the puck around the Stratford zone it was a rocket of a wrist shot to the top corner that beat Aces goaltender Sommer English.
With English on the bench late in the game the home side knotted the score. Abby Debus was awarded the lone assist on a play that saw a complete scrum in front of the Lucan net. Somehow Kate Schneider found a puck-sized hole and slipped in the equalizer with 6.2 seconds left in the game.
The Bantam B’s wrap up the regular season with a pair of road games next week.
