After a 2 to 1 victory on Sunday against the
Bluewater Hawks, the Stratford Cooper Standard Bantam B Aces are on a two game
winning streak.
After a scoreless first period Jessica Blowes set up Abby Debus who fired a high wrist shot past the Hawks goalie to open the scoring late in the second. Early in the third Maddy McNab timed her arrival at the front of the net perfectly and buried the rebound from a strong point shot taken by Avery Boyes.
The Hawks responded with a goal of their own to cut the deficit to 1 to set up an exciting finish. That excitement was short-lived as the game was ended by curfew with just under 2 minutes remaining.
With 2 weeks and 4 games remaining in the regular season Stratford is positioned in fourth place in their division. Next up is a road game to Hensall to play the West Huron Wave on Tuesday.
