Gold “Four” Atom BB Aces
This past weekend the Egg Farmers of Ontario Atom BB Aces went unbeaten and won their fourth tournament of the year.
The first game in the Clearview March Madness Tournament saw them up against the Stoney Creek Sabres. They battled well and pulled off a 4-2 victory with goals scored by Lauren Taylor, Mihret Eliasziw, Hailey Goforth and Sydnie Miller and assists made by Mia Kuepfer and Addison Moir. In game two against the Clearview Ice Cats, the girls dominated, winning 9-0. Goals were scored by Avery Wildgust, Reese Reinecker, Olivia Chartrand, Moir, Miller(2), Kuepfer(2) and Taylor, with assists made by Amelie Saunders, Reinecker, Jesse Dietrich, Eliasziw, Taylor, Moir, Goforth, Wildgust and Kuepfer. Strong defence was played by Lauren Gibb and Anika Akroyd-Snider. A 3-1 win against the Oakville Hornets in game three secured their place in the finals. Goals were scored by Mia Kuepfer, Lauren Taylor and Addison Moir, with assists by Adriana Danen, Miller and Goforth. The gold medal game was another battle against the Stoney Creek Sabres with goals by Reinecker, Eliasziw, Goforth and Miller that secured a 4-2 win for the gold. Assists were made by Danielle Bast, Wildgust, Moir and Taylor. Courtney Lott and Emma Ivey were both solid in goal throughout the weekend. Reese Reinecker, Amelie Saunders, Addison Moir and Sydnie Miller were named MVP in the games respectively. The girls worked well as a team and each and every one of them contributed to a fantastic weekend of hockey and a gold medal.
