Guelph Game
The Optimist Downie Midget A Aces swept their second game of the season with a 3-2 win over the Guelph Thunder. Jaime Van Nes made no mistake in sending a sharp shot past the Guelph keeper to give the lead to Stratford early in the first period. Despite some excellent penalty kills by the Aces' defence in the second period, Guelph managed to edge one in to tie the game. Nicole Marriage answered with a beautiful unassisted shot that went bar down into the net. Caroline McDowell secured the win after she got past the goalkeeper on a scramble in front of the net early in the third. Assists were credited to Aden Green and Kayla Veldman. Megan Jackson was solid in net to notch the win.
