4 Point Weekend
Dunny’s Source for Sports Peewee A Aces came away with four points this weekend and maintained their first place spot in the Lower Lakes Hockey League.

On Saturday Stratford travelled to the Walpole Island complex to take on the Chatham Outlaws.  Jocelyn Ballantyne opened the scoring in the first period on a feed from Laura Chapman and Kelsey Dixon. There was no scoring in the second period as Stratford failed to convert on some good chances from the heavy fore-check. Kelsey Dixon added some breathing room with a shot that went bar and still had the Chatham coaches shaking their heads after the game. Anna Mohr drew the assist on the insurance goal.
The defensive corps of Megan Rauser, Eden Lalonde, Taylor Powell, Tessa Deighton, Anna Mohr and Leah Mathews played one of their strongest games so far to help preserve the shutout for Creasyn Jordan, who shutdown the Outlaws at every chance.
On Sunday the Sarnia Lady Sting visited Stratford at the Allman Arena. Sarnia opened the scoring but Stratford quickly answered back on a goal from Kelsey Dixon with Megan Rauser collecting the assist. Paula Wouters scored the second goal of the game from Kelsey Dixon and Alexa Horne. The scoring was rounded out by Kelsey Dixon by going hard to the net and pouncing on a rebound, with helpers going to Paula Wouters and Alexa Horne.
Rylee Kaufman preserved the 3-2 win with some big saves in the third shutting down the Sarnia team as they pressed hard in the closing period. Next up for the Peewee team is the Stratford Aces Tournament November 25th – 27th.
