Peewee C Aces winning streak continues in Embro
The Aces overcame yet another slow start and finished with a strong effort, beating the West Oxford Inferno 7-1.
The Aces showed their scoring depth today with Cassie and Laura getting their first goals of the season and Deirdre, Abby, Katelynn and Rachael adding singles. Assists to Piper, Peyton B, Deirdre and Stephanie.
Abby was particularly effective offensively with several close calls including a shot off the crossbar and one off the goalie's head. Stephanie has a strong game in the corners with one particularly aggressive forecheck when she took the puck from the Inferno defense and passed it to Deirdre in the slot. Cassidy also played an aggressive game, creating several turnovers in the Inferno zone.
The Aces defense continued their inspired defensive play limiting the Inferno offense to only a handful of chances. Despite a limited number of shots on net from the Inferno, Peyton was solid in net, stopping a few point blank opportunities.
The Aces Opening Segment schedule concludes with a home game against South Huron this Sunday.
