Romeo Optometry Novice Aces Tournament Action
Submitted By CMacintosh on Tuesday, February 4, 2020
The Romeo Optometry Novice Aces had a great weekend at the 24th Annual Brampton Cougars Friendship Festival.

The girls opened up the tournament with a big 3-0 win over the Oakville Hornets, Emry MacIntosh and Grace Elliott (2) scored for the Aces while Clara Longston has to hard working assists. The Aces returned to the rink to take on Toronto Leaside Chao for the second game of the day. The Aces were slow to start, falling behind 2-0. A goal by Grace Elliott fired them up but they just couldn’t get another goal past the strong Toronto goalie, ending the game in a 2-1 loss for the Aces. The Aces came back Saturday morning eager to face off against Toronto Wassermann. The girls battled hard while being down 2-0, with Avery Pethick scoring to bring the game with in one. Gracie Neumeister made a fantastic pass off the boards sending Emry MacIntosh in on a breakaway. She faked the shot and out waited the goalie on a very nice deke and scored the tying goal for the Aces. The final game ended in a 2-2 tie. Sidney Nelemans stood on her head for the Aces all tournament. Much fun was had by all! Way to go Aces5FDBAE51-745E-4714-833C-DC79CCE66EF1.jpg
