Romeo Optometry Aces Face Off Against Huron Heat
The Romeo Optometry Stratford Aces had a great showing this weekend against both Huron Heat Teams.
The Aces took on Huron Heat 1 on Saturday. Emry MacIntosh opened up the scoring for the Aces with an early break away goal. Huron Heat was quick to answer back with a goal against Avery Pethick, who was making her debut between the pipes for the Aces. Grace Elliott, Lucy McFarlane, Clara Longston and Madeline Nickel kept the force on offensively, with many scoring chances each, while Falyn Rogers and Gracie Neumiester stood their ground in the defensive zone. Pethick stood her ground for the rest of the game, not allowing anymore goals past her, while MacIntosh added to the Aces score board with 3 more goals, assisted by Rogers and Neumiester. Saturdays big win had the Aces fired up as they came back Sunday to face off against Huron Heat 2. MacIntosh put the Aces on the score board early with a goal, assisted by Neumiester. Jillian Rossi went on to put on a goal scoring clinic, finishing up with 4 unanswered goals for the Aces. Rossi’s goals were assisted by Roger, Longston, Neumietser and Elliott. Nickel moved back to defense for this game, shutting down the Heat as they entered the zone. Pethick stood strong in the net for the Aces, earning herself a shut out and winning the game 5-0 for the Aces.
