A Successful Start to Playoffs
The Sommers Generator Systems Peewee A team got their Lower Lakes playoffs started on the right foot!
The girls showed up and played hard against the St. Thomas Panthers despite a long two week break! This was the first game on the road to Championship weekend and the girls did not disappoint! They skated away with a 3-0 win! Carley was solid in net, stopping three breakaways and making some acrobatic saves! The girls worked hard in their end with some aggressive forechecking and scrambles around the net. Ashlyn, Hailey and Alexis scored with helpers going to Kiara, Alexis, Clara and Hailey. A great start to playoff season!
On Sunday, the Cambridge Roadrunners visited the Rotary to play an exhibition game against our Aces. The girls did not have the same intensity as the day before but still managed to come back from a 2-0 deficit to win the game 3-2. Alexis kept her stick on the ice in front of the Cambridge goalie to bang in two different rebounds and Sadie finished the game off with a shot over the goalie's shoulder. Hailey, Dayna, Kiara, Clara and Shauna were credited with assists on the goals. Great job, Aces!
