Notes
The Sit Pretty Custom Grooming Novice C Aces had their second win of their round robin play-off series today when they faced off against the Lucan Irish.
Mira Broughton started the scoring for the Aces in the first period with an unassisted goal. Milana Verellen followed up with two more goals assisted by each Clara Longston and Reese Campbell. Clara showed no fear as she battled for the puck along the boards.
The scoring continued for the Aces into the second period with Milana scoring again on another great pass from Reese. Mira followed up with two more unassisted goals. With lots of end to end action the Aces defense continued to successfully hold the line keeping the Irish from scoring.
The Aces found themselves playing with a short bench today and struggled to keep their legs as the third period began. Strong goaltending and key saves by Lilly Harrigan kept the Aces in the game. Reese Campbell and Mira Broughton each scored unassisted goals for the Aces as the third period was winding down. The final score was 8-2 in favour of the Aces.
Clara’s consistent determination and hustle along with the many scoring chances she created earned her the Ace of the game.
