Strong Third Frame Lift Aces to 4th Straight Victory
Wheal's back-checking earns her Game MVP

A weary Ace Team traveled to Parkhill Sunday to face the North Middlesex Junior Stars for the first time in Division 3 play in the WOGHL.  Having come off a successful two game home stand and an off ice team building event the evening before, the team started with sluggish legs giving up Star break outs early in the first.  With Reese Flanagan suited up in net, she was able to back stop her team to hold the Star offence. Down 1-0, Pippa Nyenhuis found the back of the net to tie the game late in the first and then again in the second to answer the Star attack and keep the game tied 2-2. Ace pressure began to build mid-way through the second as the girls found their legs containing Star pressure with stronger defensive play and reliable back-checking from Ace forward and game MVP Katie Wheal.  The mounting offence helped Jule Cameron gain a decisive 3-2 goal and then an insurance marker late in the third to seal the win for the Aces 4-2.

The Ace schedule eases up through the first two weeks of December as they travel to Seaforth to face-off against the Huron Heat Saturday and then to Belmont on the 17th to meet the B.A.D. Blazers for the first time in divisional play.
