Week 3 of Playoff Provide Challenges For Kinsmen Novice C
Week Three of Playoff put Novice against South Huron Sabres C and St. Mary's Rock C in Provincial Playdown

The Stratford Kinsmen Novice C Aces were up against stiff competition in provincial playdown last week but persevered to improve their play to finish the divisional round robin in the week ahead.

The Aces traveled to Huron Park Saturday afternoon to take on the regular season division II Sabres. In the first game of the home and home play-down series, the Sabres squeaked out a late 2-1 victory over the Aces.  This time the Aces with backstop Reese Flanagan faced an even stronger Sabre offence while the Ace forwards had some strong Sabre defense to penetrate through.  Pippa Nyenhuis earned Ace game MVP in a hard fought loss.

Maeve Moss took to the net on Sunday at the Pyramid Centre in St. Mary's in the final leg of the Ace home and home series with the Rock and the final game of the provincial play-down round robin.  Jule Cameron was firing on all cylinders showing her aggressive play digging for the puck in the corners earning her Ace game MVP.  The Aces overall were in tough against strong Rock defensive play stifling any Ace offense.  Nevertheless the Aces brought a strong road crowd which supported the Ace effort against the Rock.  Brinlee Wall, Katie Wheal, Reese Flanagan and Gianna Nickel held the blue as best as they could in the 5-0 defeat on the road.

The girls eagerly await a return to league play as they begin a home and home stand against rival Wallaceburg Lakers this weekend to secure their spot in the WOGHL Playoff Division IV final.
