Atom B First League Play Win on Aces Day
The Taylor Fluid Systems Atom B Aces leave the weekend behind with 2 points added to their standings and recording their first league win. The Aces beat the Belmont Blazers on Sunday 3-0 and lost to the Lakeshore Lighting on Saturday in two exciting hockey games.

The Atom B parents traveled to the other side of Ontario on Saturday to cross sticks with the first place Lakeshore Lighting. The Aces were down two players, so some changes were made to the lines. Devan Taylor and Lila Mortimer were moved to forward positions leaving Peyton Barclay, Rachael Barber, Bronwyn Hawkins and Grace Laverty to stay strong and solid in the defensive fort. Ava Neumeister performed great in net stopping over 20 shots with at least 5 point blank breakaways by Lakeshore. One memorable moment was her pad stop on the left side of the net followed by a full out lunge and paddle stop on the right side a split second later! It was a rough and tumble game but the Aces made the Coaches proud by staying strong and in the game the entire time.

On Sunday, the Taylor Fluid Systems Atom B Aces hosted the Belmont Blazers on Aces Day, changes to the lines today included Stephanie Tsaltas moving to defense, Devan Taylor to right wing and Emersyn Miller being called up from Novice B. The line changes worked and the Aces pulled off their first win in league play. Less than 1 minute into first period play, Emersyn Miller scored unassisted after winning the face off and sliding through the Belmont defense. The Aces made it 2-0 at the end of the first with a sniper shot from the right corner by Paige Campbell, assisted by Katelynn McMahon. The third and final goal of the game came halfway through the third when the CTM line (Campbell, Ella Taylor, and McMahon) scored another goal when McMahon found the hole as all three rushed the rebound. Campbell and Taylor were awarded assists.  Sloan Cameron kept up the great Atom B goal tending with the shutout and was able to work in her new equipment.  A fabulous glove save in the third on a Belmont breakaway made Mom and Dad grin from ear to ear and justified the new gear!  Congratulations to Stephanie Tsaltas for her first go at defense, she dropped into the role with such skill you would have thought she had been there for years. Maybe we have the next Bobby Orr on our hands! The Aces are in the Stratford Festival Tournament this weekend with their game times as, Friday 9am at the Allman, Friday afternoon 1pm at Seaforth, Saturday morning 7am at Dufferin and Saturday afternoon, 3pm at the RBC.
