Peewee C Aces Extend their Winning Streak to 6!
Submitted By Jason Broughton on Friday, October 11, 2019
The Aces travelled for Ilderton tonight for an extra exhibition game against the Jets. A strong team effort led to another shutout victory.

The Aces again controlled the play throughout the game with their aggressive forechecking and puck pursuit. The Aces were able to generate a number of turnovers that led directly to scoring chances. The line of Deirdre, Abby and Piper led the charge offensively combining for 4 of the 5 goals and 10 points.

Persistent forechecking led to the first goal with Abby finally poking in a loose rebound. The second goal came off a clean faceoff win by Deirdre. Rylee fired a heavy shot from the point that was stopped by the Jets goalie but left her out of position and Piper was able to fire home the rebound. Rachael scored the third goal on a great individual effort off of the rush. Deirdre added 2 goals later in the third period to put the game out of reach.

The Aces defence continually pressured the Jets forwards and limited their chances. Strong puck movement from the Aces D ensured that we spent most of the game in the Jets zone.

The opening segment continues tomorrow with a big game against Lambton.
