Notes
The Taylor Fluid Systems Aces played their semi final game Sunday am against the Brantford Ice Cats. If you recall, the Aces beat the Ice Cats roughly 24 hours earlier in a very close nail bitter of a game; and this one was much the same…except for the winning part. The TFS girls took to the ice with full intentions of leaving everything out there, no holding back, no mercy. Ava Neumeister got the start between the pipes – strategic on the coach’s part as Neumeister was in net during the first game against the Ice Cats or just following routine, only the coaches will know – none the less, Neumeister played an awesome game stopping ever shot in regular time play. The Aces defence and forwards out played the Ice Cats but just couldn’t seem to get anything by the Cats goalie this time. The third period ended 0-0. Four on four overtime started with again back and forth play. A minute thirty into overtime the Ice Cats gained possession in our defensive zone took a shot on net which Neumeister saved but a scrum ensued and some how the puck found it way into the back of the net to end the tournament for the Aces with a top four finish. Excellent effort Aces!! Side note: Neumeister and Cameron had a combined save average of .917 this weekend. Awesome job girls!!
