The Turner Plumbing Peewee BB Aces were excited to celebrate Ace’s Day on November 11, 2018. Recognizing the importance of the special day being Remembrance Day, the team took to the ice wearing poppies on their helmets to thank the many people who have sacrificed so much for our Country.
The Aces knew they themselves would face a hard battle against the Woolwich Wild who had defeated the Aces prior to this game. Woolwich scored a quick goal with in the first minute of play to start the game. Stratford knew they had to pull up their socks or this game would get quickly out of hand. Kenleigh Soper got the goal to tie up the game at the end of the first period assisted by Victoria Campbell and Charlee Gethke. The Aces and Woolwich remained evenly matched with neither team backing down. Ella Gracey stood strong in her net, shutting the Wild out in the second and third period to keep the score to a 1-1 tie.
The team celebrated their tie with a yummy snack and sported their new Aces Day t-shirt
