Sit Pretty Custom Grooming Novice C Aces Come up Even
The Sit Pretty Custom Grooming Novice C Aces came up even after a weekend on the road against the Lucan Irish HL and the Lambton Attack HL.

On Friday night the Aces travelled to Lucan and came away with a W (2-0) against the Irish HL team. Avree Marshall netted her first goal of the season with help from Lucy McFarlane and Julia Glitz after a hard scuffle in front of the net. Mira Broughton added another in the third period on a rushing breakaway. Other notable attempts by Reese Campbell, Milana Verellen and Julia Glitz. On defense, Jillian Rossi worked hard to keep the puck in the Lucan zone and Edie Murray cleared the puck from the Stratford zone again and again. Lilly Harrigan earned the shutout as she made several tough saves throughout the game.
On Saturday morning, the Aces were on the road again as they faced the Lambton Attack HL. Reese Campbell scored the Aces lone goal with a hard 5-hole shot that was too quick for the goalie (assist by Milana Verellen). Olivia Willemsen had a good chance on a breakaway but the Lambton goalie got her pad on it. Brooke Stairs and Leighton Whetstone were strong on D as they consistently forced the Attack forwards out towards the boards. In a last ditch attempt to score in the final seconds of the game, Harrigan was pulled and an extra skater added in. It just wasn’t enough to get the tie and the Aces took the 2-1 loss. The Aces finish tied for 1st in their division and look forward to redeeming themselves against the Lambton team in a 4-point series.
