B Aces had two games against Guelph this weekend. Despite some of the Aces
battling a sickness, the girls came together as a team and played some great
hockey. The Aces came away with a tie and a loss.
On Saturday the Aces faced Guelph at home. During the first period each team had many opportunities and Chloe Rison made some big saves. In the second period Guelph came out strong, scoring two goals. The Aces wouldn’t give up and with just over a minute left Eve Binns put a goal in from the goal line. Assists came from Teresa Schuster and Niamh Appel. 30 seconds later Emma Van Nes skated down the ice, through all of their players and scored to tie it up at 2. During the third period the Aces were able to hold Guelph off, with the game ended in a 2-2 tie. Ace of the Game went to Teresa Schuster and Defensive Ace of the Game went to Claire Donnelly.

On Sunday the Aces travelled to Guelph to play them for the second time this weekend. Despite many of the Aces battling a sickness, everyone came out and played hard. Guelph came out strong, scoring 3 minutes into the first period. In the second period the Aces had many chances, but couldn’t put one in the back of the net. Guelph would score another goal to put them up 2-0. In the third period the Aces continued their strong play and it resulted in a goal. Emersyn Miller passed the puck to Keira Blain, who got her head up and saw Jayda Houben wide open in the slot. Jayda made no mistake and put it into the back of the net to make it 2-1. Guelph would score another goal making it 3-1. Ace of the Game went to Niamh Appel and Defensive Ace of the Game went to Keira Blain.
