The Stratford Egg Farmers of Ontario Atom BB Aces were hoping for a 4 point weekend this past Saturday & Sunday, as they played host to the Waterloo Ravens and Woodstock Wildcats at the Allman in important Lower Lakes regular season play.
The Aces competed hard in Saturday afternoon action but were unable to secure the win as the Ravens scored two third period goals to earn a 2-2 tie. Ace's goals were scored by Lauren Taylor and Madison Cardno, with well deserved assists credited to Avery Wildgust, Reese Reinecker and Lauren Gibb. Sunday's action against the Wildcats did not favour the Ace's effort and play. Stratford controlled play for the entire game but faced a hot Woodstock goaltender. A late shot in the Ace's zone in the dying seconds of the third period found the back of the net, and secured a 1-0 victory for the Wildcats. Despite the disappointing loss, the entire team should be commended on a complete team effort.
