The Stratford Egg Farmers of Ontario Atom
BB Aces continued their second round LLFHL playoff series with the visiting
Owen Sound Ice Hawks on Saturday, February 28, 2015. With a win, the Aces would
ensure themselves a birth in the West Divisional Finals. Despite a hard fought
game by the Atom BB's, the Ice Hawks scored late in the third period earning a
1-0 victory to force a third and final deciding game on Sunday in Owen Sound.
On Sunday, March 1, 2015 the Stratford Egg Farmers of Ontario Atom BB Aces travelled to Owen Sound in hopes of eliminating a tough Ice Hawks team. Fans in attendance were treated to a nail bitter and some fantastic girls hockey. When the buzzer sounded at the end of the third period, both teams had battled to a 2-2 tie and would require overtime to determine who would claim the second round series. With 2:20 remaining in the overtime period, Ace's Lauren Taylor shot one of her patent wrist shots, which beat the Hawks goaltender and ended the intense series with a 3-2 win. Stratford's other goals were scored by Avery Wildgust, and Taylor. Assists were credited to Addison Moir, Reese Reinecker, Lauren Gibb, Olivia Chartrand, and (Lauren) Taylor.
The Aces will continue their pursuit to earn a birth in the LLFHL Championship with a series with the first place B.A.D. Blazers.
