Notes
The Dunnys Source for Sports PeeWee BB Aces played in the Cambridge Roadrunners Girls Hockey Tournament this past weekend. Game #1 on Friday had the Aces matched up against the Toronto Leasie Wildcats. Neither team was able to find the net and the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Game #2 was a much different story as the Aces met the Niagara Rapids. Mikayla Flanagan started off the scoring in the first period assisted by Neely Clarke. Defenceman Sophie Bogdon also added one from the blue line in the first period. Niagara matched the two goals in the first period as well.Lily Daum fired in the third Aces goal in the second period after a nice pass from Jessica Blowes. Niagara tied things up in the third, but Madison Smith popped in the eventual game winner shortly after. The Aces killed off 4 penalties through the game. Game #3 was an early start on Saturday morning and the girls suffered their only loss of the tourny losing 1-0 to the London Devilettes. Despite ending up third out of six teams after pool play, the tournament format forced the Aces into the consolation playoff game Saturday afternoon. The Aces met up with the Niagara Rapids once again and ended the game with a 1-0 win. McKenzie Dietrich scored the Aces goal.
