Competing in the Festival Cup
Challenge this past weekend and going four and zero in the round robin.......
Stratford got their first win against Goderich. Alexis open the scoring in the first from Leah and Tara. Taylor scored two goals in the second with assists going to Maggie, Rachel and Erin. Aden rounded out the scoring from Alexis and Kiani to win four to zero. Rebecca earned the shutout. Game two the girls continued to shut out their opponents winning two to nothing over Mississauga. Goal scorers were Rachel and Jen with assists going to Maggie, Taylor, Aden and Alexis. Teagan earned the shut out. The third game was a tight battle with Mt. Brydes. Bridget opened the scoring late in the first on a sole effort. Mt. Brydes tied the game early in the second. With time running out Avery tipped in a nice three way passing play from Emma and Bridget to score the winning goal. Stratford scored two more with less then a minute to play, from Kiani and Maggie, with assist going to Taylor and Rachel. In the final round robin game against Manitoulin the girls won five to one. Maddi , Rachel, Taylor, Alexis and Avery all scored with assists going to Maggie, Taylor, Bridget, and Leah. This put Stratford in the finals against Goderich. Goderich scored first just ten seconds into a power play. Stratford tied the game on a power play goal from Taylor assisted by Kiani. This tied the game after the first. Goderich then took the lead on a shorthanded goal early in the second and held Stratford off to win the gold. GREAT WEEKEND GIRLS!!!!!!!
