Week Two Roundup
The second weekend of the season was a two game home stand with Sarnia in on the Saturday and St. Thomas in on the Monday night. After taking a big loss to Sarnia the week before in the season opener the girls had a much better effort and Ella Wouters was outstanding in net again! We unfortunately lost 4-1 with Jessica Blowes scoring our lone goal. I congratulate all the girls for not backing down and giving a good effort against a strong Sarnia team.
On Monday night we played St. Thomas and came up short losing 5-0. I think the score doesn't reflect the game. We had another good effort by the whole team but a 5-6 minute let down in the second period allowed St. Thomas to capitalize and score a few quick goals. St. Thomas is a very strong team in our league and again I commend our girls for not giving up even when we were down.
We need to continue to bring a strong effort ladies and limit the little mistakes and keep it simple. We need to get pucks out of our end the first time & get pucks to the net in the other end.
Week three will keep us at home with Tillsonburg coming to town on Saturday. Then our fundraiser Saturday night! See you at the rink Saturday
