What do my registration fees pay for?
(U11-U18)
Ice Time – Up to 50 hours (60 if AA) of contracted ice from September to March. This allotted time will be used for exhibition games, and practices. Teams that qualify for Provincial Championships, or the Lower Lakes Championship weekend, or other league playoffs will receive up to 2 ice times per week in the weeks following the end of the City contract and before the Provincial championship and/or league championship. Any extra ice (beyond the 50 hours) used by a team will be invoiced to the team accordingly. Please refer to the “Rep Team Ice Allocation Policy” for more details.
Ice Time – All required ice time for regular league games, playoff home games, and playdown home games.
Referees – Referees for all home league games, home playoff games, and home Provincial playdown games. Top rep teams will be covered for refs for 5 home exhibition games to be used in the spring for tryouts OR for pre-season games in the fall. Second teams will be covered for refs for 4 home exhibition games to be used in the spring for tryouts OR for pre-season games in the fall.
Timekeepers – Timekeepers for all home league games, home playoff games, and home Provincial playdown games. Top rep teams will be covered for timekeepers for 5 home exhibition games to be used in the spring for tryouts OR for pre-season games in the fall. Second teams will be covered for timekeepers for 4 home exhibition games to be used in the spring for tryouts OR for pre-season games in the fall.
OWHA and League Registration Fees – all teams and players must pay both OWHA registration fees as well as individual league registration fees. This is covered by your registration fees.
OWHA/Hockey Canada Insurance Fees – all players, and bench staff must pay Insurance fees. The association will cover the costs of all player insurance fees as well as a maximum of 5 bench staff per team. Fees for any extra bench staff will be invoiced to the individual team.
Equipment – Each player will receive two sets of hockey socks (home and away) as well as a water bottle. Jerseys are replaced every few years by the association and remain the property of the association. The association will also provide name bars IF required.
Skill Development – Rep teams are provided funds to be used for Skill Development.
Certification Training for Bench Staff – All coaches, and trainers must be certified and must provide Police Background checks. These costs are covered by the Association.
Year End Banquet – All players are invited to attend a year end banquet. Meals are provided for players and bench staff as well as individual player awards for all rep teams.
Tournaments – All Stratford teams will be entered into the Stratford tournament. In addition, the association will provide funding for 3 additional tournaments to be approved by the rep convenor.
Game Sheet Labels – The Association will provide blank game sheet labels to all teams as required by league.
Provincials – The Association will cover the cost of the Provincial bonds as well as Provincial Entry Fee for any qualifying team.
League Championships – The Association will cover the entry fee for any team that qualifies for their league championship.
