n Game 4 - Aces face tough test against Sudbury and lose 5-0
The Aces coming off a needed win faced the threat of the tournament against the Sudbury Lady Wolves who had trounced the competition thus far. Coach Canal and the staff had the girls ready though and they came out hard, showing the Lady Wolves this wouldn't be easy. However, after one of the girls was taken down in the corner on a no call, the puck got out front of Feller and despite an initial save, the resulting scrum couldn't be cleared and Sudbury went up 1-0. Adella, facing her toughest game of the tournament, was forced to make sharp stop after sharp stop. A great pass across to Jillian Rossi for a one timer went wide when she couldn't get enough of her stick on it. Julia Glitz also was generating chances, skating hard, as the girls tried to push back to tie. However, the Lady Wolves turned it up a notch and after some sustained pressure, put the score at 2-0. Though the Aces continued to try and generate, the Lady Wolves were proving too good on the back end as Wilemsen, Glitz, MacIntosh, Rossi, Michaels and Canal all had efforts to take the puck up the ice thwarted. Some nice passing on a great rush on a Sudbury PP put the score at 3-0. Feller had no chance on a slick pass across the net to make it 4-0 and the Lady Wolves finished the scoring from the blueline to make it 5-0. Though the score was lopsided, there were times in the game where the Aces pushed and at least gave the Wolves the sense that this team wasn't as easy fodder as their previous games.
