Organization - Aces get their biggest victory of 2020 so far
Submitted By Jan Ballantyne on Monday, November 30, 2020
To quote the Aces dressing rooms, “Not all victories show up on the scoreboard” and today was a prime example of that. With a full truck of donations, the Aces get their biggest victory of 2020 so far. The Aces community stepped up in a big way today collecting both donations at the arena, set up by Aces Special Events Coordinator

Brianne Smith, and money collected from the individual teams and the community to help support the Emily Murphy Center and Optimism Place. The generosity was unbelievable and we put the money to good use with the help of some local businesses.

Special thanks go to our friends, Craig & Jess at No Frill Stratford, for the lovely donation and providing all items at cost. Scott helped us out so much and we appreciate the time he spent with us. To Zehrs Stratford for their incredible gift certificate donation from Store Manager Travis, and all the warm PJ that we were able to purchase. A special thank you to Lee as well for all her help. To Walmart Stratford for helping us maximize our dollars for all the toys. There are two special people out there in the Stratford community as well that made this experience incredible. While we shopped at No Frills, two people asked us where we were from and what we were doing and handed over $20 each to support the cause. Finally to the Aces Executive Board that added $500 to ensure we could do our best to kick off the holiday spirit.

This certainly has been a different season from years past, but the spirit of the Aces within the community is still alive and well. Happy holidays to all and thank you for the donations!!! We made a big difference today to those in need of a helping hand.

Go Aces Go!
