Buzzer Beater Gives Aces 7 points on Season
Aces Appel throws an astonishing last second wrister past Jets to give Aces a Draw

In a seasonal scoring drought where the Rod Smith Financial Atom B Aces have only scored 7 goals and have given up 19 in seven games the Aces still find themselves in the middle of the pack in the central west divsion of the LLFHL with 7 points.  Good on them. 1-0 victories are all you need for 2 points and buzzer beater single goals are all you need to tie games up as well.  Just ask Ace sniper Niahm Appel. Her late game heroics in a game dominated by the Ilderton Jets where the only thing preventing a rout of the Aces was the performance of Macie Russworm.  The Jets propelled themselves through the Ace blue line time and time again but Russworm stood firm all three periods allowing only one. Appel, teamed up with Kiera Blain and Mickie McDonald were desperate to finally get the puck out of the ace zone late in the third to allow for the extra girl on the ice to finally get pressure on the jets. The extra girl did not need to come, Appel took matters into her own hands on a quick rush out of the defensive zone beating through the Jet and labeling a shot over the blocker of the Jet goalie simultaneously with the final buzzer to the end of the game giving the aces the point they needed to salvage to keep their standing in the division.
To keep the momentum going the Aces need to find the back of the net - they need their snipers to work together to start to find the net. This starts Sunday when they host the high flying firepower of the Irish -the Aces need to match the offense shift by shift, period by period.
