Aces Trounce Hericanes 3-0
A Brand New Ace Attitude Hits the Ice to round out Pre-Season Action

Attitude. A fighting will. Practice, Practice, Practice.  The Rod Smith Financial Atom B Aces hit the ice Monday night in St. Clements to meet the Twin City Heracanes looking like a new team.  Exceptional defensive zone clearance jolted the Ace forward into action and finally gave the Ace nets a rest. The Ace offence shone in a way not seen before for the road crowd.  The gunners blanked the Heracanes 3-0.
As soon as she hit the ice a determined Niahm Appel was focused and ready. 6 minutes into the first she grabbed a loose puck in the neutral zone, split the Twin City defence and blasted her signature wrister past a helpless Heracane Net minder. Not content to just snap her pre-season scoring drought Appel threw another underneath a sprawling goalie into the second putting the Aces up 2-0.  Appel was not done. This time Appel, set up new Ace Mickie McDonald on the Heracane doorstep for her second as a Ace. 3-0 Aces. Exceptional defensive zone work especially from breakout Ace Lily Hartwick showed the Ace bench that the D are capable of moving the puck and creating opportunities up front.
When reached for comment coach Brianne Smith told the post game scrum that the hard work in practice pushed  the girls to the new heights they knew they could find. With conviction coach Smith exclaimed  'They gave it 110% tonight.  One. Hundred. and Ten. Percent.'
The Rod Smith Financial Aces now end the LLFHL pre-season with the confidence and swagger needed as they look at the grueling road to victory ahead of them.
