travelled a snowy highway 59 to take on the Woodstock Wildcats in a rare
mid-week game. In a cold civic arena, the girls battled the powerful Wildcats.
The game got off to a great start with a goal by Emersyn Miller, unassisted,
followed quickly by a penalty for defenseman, Avery Randall after a
powerful elbow to the opposing player, giving the Wildcats the opportunity to
even the score at 1-1.
Miller
came back on after the start of the second, to score the Ace’s second goal,
assisted by defenseman, Emma
Van Ness. The wild Wildcats, battle back to get another late in
the second, evening the score at 2-2.
Heading
into the third, both teams pulled out all the stops, until right winger, Lila
Mortimer, drew a tripping penalty, giving the powerful Wildcat power play the
chance to score late in the third, where the game would eventually land, 3-2 in
favour of the Wildcats.
