Notes
The Stratford Aces Novice C team competed in the 23rd annual Woodstock Wildcats tournament this weekend.
The Aces found themselves up against three tough opponents in tournament play. The Woodstock Wildcats, St. Thomas Panthers and the Mooretown Lady Flags, which resulted in a a semi-final match between themselves and the first place St. Thomas Panthers. Although the Aces fought hard and never gave up, they couldn’t find a win this weekend.
The Aces had some changes in their lineup this weekend. Leighton Whetstone played fantastic in net on Saturday, making a fantastic glove save against the Lady Flags. Brooke Stairs made a change to defence and played very well in front of her own net, clearing away many scoring opportunities from the Aces opponents. Ava Langis and Lucy Macfarlane both made the switch to forward digging hard for pucks and clearing them from the Aces zone. Madeline Nickel played strong on defence this weekend skating hard in the corners and in front of the net. Olivia Willemsen, Julia Glitz and Reese Campbell had solid games both offensively and defensively this weekend. They all created many scoring chances while preventing many as well.
The Aces play again Saturday January 12th in Lambeth.
