Kinsmen Novice C’s Drop Late Game Decision With Third Period Drama
Girls high rate of Improvement on Full Display in Sunday's Heated Match

The Stratford Kinsmen Novice C Aces rolled into Belmont Sunday morning determined to prove their worth at the top of the third division facing off against their co-division leader BAD Blazers for the first time since early in the season. With Cadence McKee in net the girls came out hard and fast in the first period and dominated the play deep in the Blazers zone. On a late first period breakout the Blazers opened the scoring putting the aces down 1-0. The Blazers continued to break down the Ace defense and added a second, third and forth goal surely sealing defeat for the beleaguered Aces. Down 4-0 at the start of the third, the Aces comeback began. The girls aggressive fore check returned as the girls began skating hard at the net. A pin pointed blast to the corner by Katie Wheal early in the third followed by Pippa Nyenhuis chipping in her first of the game brought the score to 4-2. With less than one minute left and net minder McKee pulled, Nyenhuis churned out her second of the game from a sharp angle narrowing the score to 4-3 . The Aces momentum had peaked at the same time as their luck had run out. BAD home ice luck shuddered the Aces hopes as the team's ice time had run out leaving the Ace squad high and dry with 30 seconds left on the game clock in an exciting 4-3 loss.

The Aces will carry their only loss in 6 games to Wallaceburg on December 23 where they hope to continue to vie for the division leadership.
