2 key weekend matches get 2 big wins for Aces
The Stratford Egg farmers of Ontario Atom A Aces had 2 tough challenges on the weekend.
On Saturday they faced the Kitchener Lady Rangers. With great goal tending, stellar defence and forwards playing two way hockey the aces skated to a 4-0 victory. Sienna Wildgust earned another shutout with great saves between the pipes. The defensive pairings of Katie Antonio, Addisyn Reinecker, Avery Faulhafer, Kyleigh Denstedt Hannah Mogk and Shauna Everett made sure the puck either stayed out of the zone or wasn't in there long. Goal scores for the game were Ella Van Bakel 1(1), Sadie MacArthur, Aveleen Flood 1(1), Olivia Rau, and other assists by Shauna Everett, Clara Leduc, Hannah Mogk and Alia Poirier. Then on Sunday they traveled to London. A hard back and forth game resulted in a 1-0 victory. Strong goal tending by Mia Morris earned her another shutout. Sadie MacArthur's consistent hard pressure rewarded her with the loan goal. Ella Van Bakel and Autumn Mikel puck handling and offensive skill helped them get assists on the goal. Hockey sense and continuous hard work got these girls 4 well deserved points. Way to go Aces.
