Awsome weekend ends with silver medal
The Ontario Egg Farmers Stratford Atom A Aces traveled to Brantford this weekend and captured another silver medal.

After 4 hard games the Aces ended the tournament with a 3-1 record and kept there amazing streak alive of medalling in every tournament this year. Game 1 they jumped to an early 2-0 lead with goals from McKenzie Parsons and Aveleen Flood with assists from Autumn Mikel and Clara Leduc. Ancaster battled back to tie the game but Sienna Wildgust made sure that's all they got with some great saves. The game was highlighted with a goal by Shauna Everett with 4 seconds left in the game to earn the victory and get Shauna the MVP of the game. Game 2 the Aces took on Barrie in an exciting fast paced game. A 3-0 win saw Mia Morris earn a shutout with plenty of great saves. Two first period goals by Aveleen Flood and Alia Poirier put them ahead early and Autumn Mikel's third period goal sealed the deal. Assisting on the goals were Shauna Everett and McKenzie Parsons. Autumn's hard work earned her MVP. Game 3 had the girls facing the South Huron Sabres. These two teams always battle each other hard and this game was exactly that. A second period goal by the Sabres put the Aces down but this hard working team knew they were not out. Sadie MacArthur tied it up a couple minutes later and Kiara McGregor's third period goal was all Sienna Wildgust needed as she close the door with some great late saves. Mckenzie Parsons constant pressure earned her MVP. With these 3 victories the girls headed to the championship game against Ancaster. Once again these two teams played hard and showed why they were in the finals. Autumn Mikel and Sadie MacArthur both found the back of the net with assists by Tessa Burdett, Shauna Everett and Addisyn Reinecker. Mia Morris goaltending skills helped the girls get to overtime and earned her MVP. Unfortunately the girls were missing two of their Aces as Hannah Mogk and Ella Van Bakel were out with injuries. Get better soon girls because this team is headed to the provincials next and with a full squad this group is bound to medal again.
