NotesThe Kinsmen Club of Stratford Intermediate Aces remain in first place in the KW Local League after defeating the Kitchener Lancers Sunday evening at the Activa Sportsplex in Kitchener.
Stratford got the jump on Kitchener with a goal only 15 seconds into the opening frame, as Erin Kuepfer caught the Kitchener goaltender off guard on a shot in close.
Leah Matthews and Megan Rauser assisted on the play.
The second period was a stalemate, as the Lancers pushed back, but the third period was all Stratford with Rauser scoring two goals, the first unassisted, the second assisted by Kirsten Matthews and Megan Dale.
Despite some penalty trouble in the final 6 minutes of the game, the Aces defence and goalie Tasia Reynen closed the door and as the final buzzer sounded, the score remained 3-0 Stratford, with Reynen earning the shutout. The Kinsmen Ladies remain in first place, two points ahead of the Woolwich Wild, with one game remaining.
