The Dunnys's Source for Sports Peewee BB Aces brought home the gold medal from their first tournament this season in St. Catherines. The Aces went undefeated the entire tournament and were rewarded for all their hard work.

The girls played their first game Friday afternoon against the Hamilton Hawks and came out storming, scoring three goals in the first period. Sophie Bogdon, Jessica Blowes and Abby Gilchrist each scored for the aces with assists from Mckenzie Dietrich, Madison Smith and Sara Campbell. Aces netminder, Megan Arnold held the Hawks to a lone goal late in the third period.

Saturday morning the Aces met the Etobicoke Dolphins and dominated the scoring winning the game 6-1. Gilchrist and Smith each scored twice and assisted on two more goals a piece. Stacey Shackleton and Brooklyn Rau rounded off the scoring. Tarha Keen and Amber Van Nes played stong defensive games helping Ella Wouters in net.

Because they finished first in their pool, the girls did not play again until the semi-final game on Sunday morning where they met the host team St. Catherines Chaos. Madison Smith scored for Stratford early in the first period and both teams battled back and forth for the remainder of the game which ended in a 1-0 score. Megan Arnold recorded the shut out for Stratford.

In the final game, Sunday afternoon, the Aces met the Belmont Blazers who had been undefeated in regular league play. Madison Smith netted the first goal after a scrum in front of the Blazers net. Emma Gansevles and Sara Campbell were strong on the blue line for Stratford throughout the entire game. In the final minutes of the game the Blazers pulled their goalie and sent out the extra attacker, but the Aces were able to clear the puck from their end and Madison Smith fired a shot down the ice, putting it in the empty net to seal the win.  Ella Wouters recorded the shut out in the final game.
