Novice Aces Hockey Team attended a University of Gueph Gryphons Women's Hockey Game
On Saturday evening, the Stratford Novice Aces Hockey Team attended a University of Gueph Gryphons Women's Hockey Game.

The Coach of the team has a local connection - Coach Rachel Flanagan is one of the elite staff at the "Girls Got Game" hockey camp held in Tavistock each summer.  Many local hockey players attend the camp, including some of the players pictured.  Our team's trainer, Jessica VanBakel is a former U of G women's hockey team member and she contacted the coach asking about a visit from our team.  We met with Coach Rachel in the dressing room before the game and we watched an exciting game against York University where the game was 0-0 after 3 periods and overtime.  In an exciting shoot-out, Guelph won!  It was very, very exciting!  After the game, our players participated in the U of G team's cool down and they met with the Team Captain to congratulate her on the big win.  It was wonderful for our young female hockey players to meet and watch women's hockey at this level.
