The Atomic 1's Tie Woolwich Wild. On Sunday the Atomic 1's were in Woolwich to avenge a 6-3 loss they had earlier in the year. The Atomic's came out firing on all cylinders with Emma Blowes notching a goal on a Bobby Orr-ish end to end rush at 4:33 of the first. A mere 2 minutes later at 2:42 Lauren Martin knocked home a feed from Olivia Watts putting the Atomics up 2-0. With one minute to play in the first, Woolwich Wild got a a breakaway and potted their first of the game. Woolwich were determined to leave the period all square. They swarmed the Atomic end stinging them at 0:43 and leveling the match.
From there on it was a goal tender duel. "Crazy Legs" Meg Feore made countless toe saves to keep the game tied. Despite rentless pressure, the Atomic closed the game out tied and ended the weekend taking 3 of a possible 4 points. Great playing Atomic 1's!
