Stratford Atom Atomic #1's Drop First game of the season to Woolwich due to rusty blades. The rust on their skates from the idle holiday time took almost 2 periods to ware off. 
Half way through the second period the Atomics were down 5-0 and the game looked like Woolwich was going to have a blow out. However, at  3:48 of the second, Zoe Hill came off the bench with a burst of speed received a pass from Olivia Watts and sniped the far corner. This quick goal sparked the whole team and as each girl came off the bench their rust was gone. Stratford began to dominate the play. At 11:30 of the third, Olivia Watts one timed a pass from Zoe Hill making the game 5-2. A scant 32 seconds later Olivia Watts was back, finding the puck in front of the net and shoving it home. Another assist went to Zoe Hill. Stratford continued to dominate but the Woolwich Wild goalie repeatedly shut the door with net engulfing butterfly saves. Despite continued pressure, Stratford could not get another goal. Woolwich added their final tally with 0:28 seconds remaining in the game. With the rust now off their blades, the Atomic's 1's are ready for a strong second half of the season.
